Mo Akhavani is one of the leading surgeons in his field, combining surgical finesse with academic excellence to achieve optimum results. He has had extensive training in reconstructive plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery, performing specialist treatment in upper limb reconstruction, skin cancer management, and general plastic surgery.
Mr. Akhavani is one of the few plastic surgeons in the United Kingdom to hold both the British and European diplomas in Hand Surgery. He is a member of BAPRAS, BAAPS and the BSSH.
Mr. Mo Akhavani has published over 30 articles in peer reviewed journals and is a faculty member on the BSSH educational committee. His current research interest is in hand transplant funded by a grant from the BSSH.
Mr. Akhavani has been awarded the esteemed Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England for his pioneering Doctorate of Medicine (MD) research in plastic surgery. He has won several academic prizes.
