Mr Mo Akhavani is a London based consultant plastic and cosmetic surgeon on the GMC specialist register and a leading hand surgery specialist.

As a leading consultant in the field of plastic surgery with over 12 years of experience, and having performed over 3000 plastic and cosmetic surgery operations to date, Mr Akhavani is here to offer the very best standards of safety and patient care.

Training Background

Mr. Akhavani graduated from St. George’s Hospital Medical School, London in 1999. Having completed his general surgical rotation, in 2004 he embarked on his training in plastic surgery working in London, Manchester and Toronto.

As a result, he’s worked with some of the leading specialists in the world, and has had extensive training in both reconstructive plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery.

One of Mo’s primary focuses in the private sector is as a leading hand surgery specialist, where he manages all aspects of hand surgery including the repair of traumatic injuries, fracture fixation and more chronic conditions, e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome and Dupuytren’s disease. He’s one of very few plastic surgeons in the UK to hold both the British and European Diplomas in Hand Surgery.

Mr Akhavani has won numerous academic prizes for his outstanding contribution to plastic surgery, and was awarded the esteemed Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009 for his pioneering Doctorate of Medicine (MD) research in plastic surgery.

He’s actively and passionately involved in research and has had over 30 articles published in peer reviewed journals, with his current research interest in the field of transplant surgery. By participating in research he ensures that his practice continues to be on the cutting edge of surgical advancements.
